From HBO to NBC and Disney, there are few corners of the film/TV industry which Kimberly McGregor has not extended her talent, a skill set she now brings to Victory Studios Seattle.

Producer Kimberly Dickens-McGregor has been working in the entertainment industry for over sixteen years, beginning as a production assistant and working her way to her current role as supervising producer.

She has worked in creative and production development on a wide range of major productions, most notably, HBO’s Carnivale, which she oversaw from the pilot to the end of the first season. She has also worked on Felicity for Disney and Imagine Entertainment, Y2K and Heroes for NBC, and Blow, Twilight Zone, and Longfellow Bridge for New Line Cinema. Kimberly recently joined the newly re-vamped Victory Studios Seattle Executive management team, where she brings her extensive production experience from the creative foundation working with writers through line producing and post-production.

Victory Studios Owner Conrad Denke spoke about the recent addition of Kimberly to their Management team:

At Victory we are fortunate to have her depth of experience. She knows what world class high quality looks like and will accept nothing less in productions done at Victory Studios. Because of her extensive Hollywood studio production experience, Kimberly also provides critical liaison work with Victory Studios LA and our partner HDFilms.

In addition to her Hollywood credentials, Kimberly is an active member of the Producers Guild of America, and has experience producing projects on a global scale, working in Canada, Europe and Mexico.

From her association and experience working with award winning productions, Kimberly’s arrival comes at a time when Victory Studios Seattle is increasing its focus on entertainment production, making Kimberly’s arrival all the more fitting.

Victory Studios is excited to have several new items in our rental department. Among these newcomers are the McWilliams Eye Direct System and the Kessler Pocket Dolly. Also check out the new look in our Rentals section – LINK

Pocket Dolly

The Pocket Dolly from Kessler is a compact camera slider that features a unique crank and belt system that provides smooth camera movements and a dramatic look without breaking the budget. This slider is great for smaller format cameras, such as, Canon 5D, 7D, or 60D and can also be used with cameras as large as the Panasonic HVX-200. It can be mounted on a tripod or set on a tabletop. With its all-in-one design you’ll be free to move around and get a variety of shots in the time it would take to just lay out a few feet of traditional dolly track. Check out their product video:

Eye Direct

The Eye Direct is a device that works similarly to a teleprompter but instead of displaying text on the screen, a series of mirrors allow the director’s face to be displayed in front of the lens. This allows the subject to talk directly into the lens while still displaying the emotions and reactions you expect from a person-to-person conversation.

“Think fast, good and affordable is a dream? With Victory’s support, we pulled off the impossible and created a high production campaign on time and under budget”, says KING’s creative director, Cherylynne Crowther about Victory Studios recent effort for the Home Team. The Victory Studios team has put the finishing touches on the station’s 2011 Image Campaign. The spots, currently airing, were finished in black and white, (with, of course a few yellow jackets left in!) and feature KING’s anchors, reporters and investigators, blended with a font treatment of key words. A strong music composition, along with Motion Graphics, Compositing, and Color Grading brought the spots together. Tom Skerritt dropped by VS Audio for the VO record. The spots include a 60, “Trust”, along with some 30’s and 05 second tags for each of KING’s on-air journalists. Victory worked with a King-5 Team that included Creative Director – Cherylynne Crowther, Producer – Deb Ellis, Editor – Rico Benjamin, Writer – Deb Ellis/Lisa Dawes, and Production Manager/Producer – Ryan Subica. The footage was directed by Mark Feijo and DP’d by Shawn Anderson.

Two recent ticket spots produced by Victory Studios for the Seahawks and Sounders FC.

The “Earn Everything” spot for Seahawks features the craftsmanship of Victory’s Ben Kaplan, who directed and edited the spot, along with Nick Denke, who composed the music, and Geoff Dunlap, who shot the dynamic scenes of the players “suiting up”. The spot also utilizes some tasty action footage shot by NFL Films.

The Sounders FC spot, “Renewal”, again, is the handiwork of Ben and Nick, along with David Glass who shot some of the footage.

Both spots were produced by Mike Wacker & Rick Crawford.
